The first complaint I have about this game is that the coin system is a hindrance. Starting with 3 and only getting 1 every 8 hours severely limiting the ability to simply play, with online games costing 2 coins means you can only play a game on average once every 16 hours. When games last at most 3 hours you are not able to play roughly 4/5 of the time. I dont feel that I should have to pay $6 to play more than once or twice a day.
The second complaint is the maneuver phase being too restrictive. In the actual board game you are not restricted to how many troops you can move. In this game however you can only make one move per turn. This is a severe disadvantage to the player who has troops scattered throughout their empire and is suddenly attacked. They may be unable to maneuver troops to form a effective defense.
The third complaint is that players can attack allies without breaking the truce. The truce would be a more practical feature if a player was unable to attack allies without first breaking the truce. That said I think that the player should be able to break a truce and attack former ally in the same turn to have surprise attacks.
Lastly I have a suggestion instead of a complaint, introduce some form of chat or in game messenger system. This would allow allies to strategize to form a plan to benefit both. Additionally it would be cool if allies could win together; say red and green are allies and they are the last two on the board, they would both win. This would probably require a system where alliance are known to secondary parties. I.e. red is allied with only blue, if blue allies with green red is notified and can then decide whether or not they also want to ally with green or risk it.
Lastly I would like to point out that this is risk and that some of the ideas Ive laid out would make it more like diplomacy. Alternatively only complaints 1&2 could be changed and the rest made into a new app where people play diplomacy. The developer would certainly be capable of doing this based on their existing games.
